Governor's Message
(continued from home page)
I don't think I can say enough just how fortunate I am to have this opportunity to serve as your I-I District Governor for the 2011-12 Key Club year. There are a variety of new things I would like to try this year, whether it be through one member, one club, or one service project. It would be great if the resources on this website could be used by Key Club members are Key Club advisors alike, because I want everyone to know as much as there is to know about our organization. As the world's oldest and largest student-led high school service organization, Key Club International has been building caring, capable, and competent leaders through the vehicle of service since 1925. Of course, that most certainly will not be changing this year anytime soon!
As I've said before, I want to introduce some new ideas, but at the same time I also want to maintain a strong base for familiar items such as our District Project. We have partnered with the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation for 31 years, and I am so pleased that we can continue on through this year as well. Spastic Paralysis is truly the I-I District's project, promoted not only by the I-I District of Key Club International but also by the I-I Districts of Circle K International and Kiwanis International. I love that we have such a strong K-family connection through our district project. I strongly encourage you to reach out to your K-family counterparts, whether for helping out with a service project or just planning a K-family event - it can only be beneficial to have strong K-family relations! Make sure to check out the District Project and K-Family tabs on the left.
Lastly, never forget that the board is here for YOU. I am very much impressed with how much clubs put into their projects and into their communities, and so it is that I want Key Club to give back to you. What has Key Club given to YOU? Contact other members of the district board. Locate your lt. governor under the Directory tab and voice your thought! Always, always, always remember that we are here to serve YOU. Let us know the best way for us to do that! We would absolutely love to hear any thoughts, worries, concerns, opinions, questions, suggestions, or ideas you may have.
